I've received a few more questions and messages about the 650 and I'd like to thank everyone who has visited the page so far.
I never expected an extremely busy year, so I've really let the blog slide down. But soon, I'll be posting more stuff since I did get a chance to do more mods and maintenance upkeep like oil changes and other minor things. I switched to Vance and Hines pipes a few months ago so here's the video of it. I didn't get a chance to record the original pipes so hopefully you take my word on that it sounds a lot louder than stock.

ReplyDeleteI have purchased a new xvs 650 and added Vance and Hines Shortshots..Whith a k&h air filter... The Dealer has no idea on how to jet the carbies or does not want to outlay anymore cash.He wants me to arrange a dyno.. What jets size did you use and what notch did you put the e clip on the needle?

I put my range down at between 110-117.5 after comparing my settings with the jet chart guide so I started of with 112.5 and they worked pretty well with the stock intake I had, and with the clip at the 4th notch.
ReplyDeleteThe dealer sounds shady if he has no idea how to re-jet and seems to be pulling your leg with the dyno.
